CAB Hosts Javier Mendoza-Hobo Cane Benefit Concert Oct. 13
Dine Outdoors and Donate to Hurricane and Earthquake Relief
(LEBANON, Ill., October 10, 2017) — A free concert by “Javier Mendoza presents Hobo
Cane” will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. on the patio at McKendree University’s
Ames Dining Hall. Hosted by the McKendree Campus Activities Board to celebrate Hispanic
Heritage Month, the event is a fundraiser for hurricane and earthquake relief efforts
in Puerto Rico and Mexico City. Lawn chairs are welcome but alcoholic beverages and
coolers are prohibited.
Virginia native Javier Alberto Mendoza started his musical career joining Warner-Chappell
as a staff writer in Miami, writing tunes for Enrique Iglesias, Juan David, Ricky
Martin, Rosario and more. He later moved to St. Louis, where he gained musical success
and a new following. In 2014 Mendoza moved to Nashville, Tenn., where he is embarking
on a project as Hobo Cane, and was selected one of Nashville's Lightning 100's Independent
Radio Station Spotlight Artists in 2016 and Local Artist of The Week Artist in July
of 2017 with the song "Let Go."
Donations for the fundraiser may be made several ways:

A meal will be available in Ames Dining Hall for $8.95, with 20 to 25 percent donated to the fundraiser. Carry-outs are welcome.
