McKendree Holding Electronics Recycling Drive Oct. 29
(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 10, 2024) – McKendree University will be hosting an electronics recycling drive in conjunction with PCs for People on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The community at large is invited to bring their electronics for recycling to the lower parking lot by the Hett. Acceptable items include desktops, laptops, phones, televisions and monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, speakers, hard drives and other computer parts, power cords, cables, servers and networking equipment.
Some items will not be accepted, including household appliances, microwaves, refrigerators, vacuums, car batteries, CRT (tube) televisions and monitors, copiers, and any items that contain chemicals, fossil fuels, bio waste, oil, liquids, powders, asbestos or freon.
Founded in 1998, PCs for People is a national nonprofit social enterprise working to get low-cost quality computers and internet into the homes of individuals, families and nonprofits with low income. By recycling and then refurbishing computers, PCs for People provides a valuable service to businesses, families, and the planet by keeping computers out of landfills and repurposing them to advance digital inclusion.
